I understand how daunting the thought of getting new Headshots can be - simply because the outcome is so important. How do I know this? Because I trained as an actor 30 years ago and have been working as one ever since. I first picked up a camera after a traumatic photo-shoot where my agent, upon perusing my contact sheets, uttered the words: ‘Well… I can use one or two maybe’. And after all the money I’d spent, I was outraged! And so my journey to becoming a headshot photographer began.

I have also worked as a Director and in Television - so I know how judgemental people are when they look at a headshot. That’s why we have to get it right.

To this day I still have the horrors when I have to get my headshots done! And therefore, even though I’m the one pushing the button these days, I know how nerve-wracking it is. There are two things I can guarentee when you’re having your session with me is… first, you’ll be with someone who knows how it feels to sit in front of that lens and second, we won’t stop until we get the job done. And part of getting that job done includes a conversation with you and/or your agent prior to your appointment; getting to know your casting strengths and then helping you choose the right colour and neckline to wear to enhance that; applying make up and helping with basic hair styling as required whilst all the time keeping a watchful eye on all of the above during the shoot, just to keep the focus on you.

Which means you can relax and concentrate on what really matters… what and how you’re feeling - ‘for therein lies the secret’.
